This intriguing work is fairly obviously inspired in part by Blavatskys early Theosophical writings, and draws allegory between the Bible and then-modern events, prophecying the fall of Britain and the rise of the United States as a world power, establishing a (literal) church in Philadelphia- the actual city of residence of the pseudonymous author. It is richly linguistic (read; dense) and so will mainly be of interest to those who like language, hidden writing, and prophecy. Oddly, the prophecy did actually come true; the United States would, in only a few short decades, become a dominant power with the launch of the great white navy, the rise of art deco and the boom times of industry, and Britain would at the same time begin to fracture. Indeed when the language is dug into fairly deeply, it's surprisingly accurate.

This is a very interesting Theosophical work; at times rather confusing, with a lot of content which resembles a religious tract more than a coherent book. Nonetheless, its content is fairly straight-forward; it deals with the topic of sacred sexuality and biblical allegory, overlapped with biochemistry, utilizing the theory of "mineral salts" and their role in the human body. Abstaining from alcohol and sex is a common subtopic- although the work does not make it clear whether the latter should also take place within the confines of marriage. It quotes both the Christian Bible and Blavatsky, and also intertwines with elements of Hinduism such as the kundalini.

This short work is largely a look at the rituals and beliefs of Chassidic (or Hasidic) Judaism- dancing, song, marital rites, and so forth. It touches on the history of the sect, and its mysticism, and culminates in a suggestion that an actual state of Israel should be created- the work being notable in that it was constructed long prior to the same, in the middle of the first world war- an example of Zionist literature from the era.

Arcana Saitica is an interesting work related to the Freemasons. It posits a mystic element to the path of Freemasonry, while additionally pointing out that most Masons do not, strictly speaking, follow a mystical path at all, and are effectively simply part of a fraternal order of civic and personal importance.

The mysticism here is partially historical, partially linguistic, and references Ancient Egypt, the Chaldeans, Buddhism, and other paths and time periods. The zodiac and astrological system of the West is additionally prominent.

General Update Time: More Works Coming Soon!

It has been several months since I wrote anything about my literature; but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!

Over the last few months I have obtained almost a hundred new literary works to edit- some short, some long, all occult or occult-adjacent. Four of these works are done with the illustrations ready to go. A fifth work is done pending completed illustrations. A sixth work is about half done. I decided to just list the forthcoming titles here. This "Temple of the Illuminati" book by Reuben Clymer essentially traces the story of Jesus and interprets it in a mystical manner, labeling Jesus an Essene (which is almost certainly true, if we assume the historicity of this figure) and ruminating on his antipathy towards the Sadducees and Pharisees, among other contemporary movements. It then expounds upon both Judeochristian and Eastern topics, and how practices therein can bring one into better spiritual alignment with the same mystical interpretation of Jesus.

This interesting volume is one of the foremost titles crafted by Frank Homer Curtiss during his life. Husband to the Blavatsky-adjacent founder of the Order of Christian Mystics, his views here are an amalgamation of Theosophical, Gnostic, Rosicrucian, and Hermetic materials- indeed, there is an entire section of poetry written purportedly by natural spirits (gnomes, sylphs, salamanders, and undines.) Allusions to Blavatsky and others are frequent. It goes well beyond its ostensible subject matter into social issues such as alcoholism (it considers alcohol to resonate at an astral frequency, causing danger to drinkers), the First World War (and how German aeronauts were essentially sinning with their development of aviation technology!) among other intriguing subtopics.

This strange work was crafted by a man who, upon brief investigation, is one of the most enigmatic figures in the occult which I have encountered. A relatively high class lawyer of the 19th century, Hatch' best known work wasn't even written by him, and was made posthumously via automatic writing. This text contributes to the sense of oddity in the case of the author, since it claims to be hermetic but essentially smashes a dozen or so apparent occult ideologies together, openly professing that it is a symbolic work which must be understood in the non-literal sense, much like the Steganographia of Trithemius.

It is well written but highly theatrical in its language usage and flow, so those intrigued by plays and poetry will probably enjoy it more than those looking for a dry academic work.

This fine little work is a compilation of tales of the Stigmata as reported over the course of centuries by the Catholic church. The phenomenon itself is the appearance of marks on the body commensurate with the wounds imparted on Jesus during crucifixion. Regardless of whether you believe in such a phenomenon, it's a very valuable bit of history pertinent to the Catholic church and some of the stories are quite supernatural (such as levitation and religiously significant marks on the heart upon dissection.)

This book is a nice analysis of the idea of karma, from a specifically Theosophical perspective. The authors' name is a pseudonym so it isn't entirely clear which theosophist actually compiled the materials here. It's a more legitimate take on the subject than much literature about karma- often it is boiled down to a simplified, singular idea and ideas like national or group karma are deliberately overlooked because they (in truth) don't make sense under the concepts of Western thought.

It manages to avoid the overtly new-age style of some then contemporary manuscripts which devolve into talking about psychic forces and other things which were in vogue at the time, and contains a good bit of religious history, to boot.

This book here is mostly authentic breathing exercises from Hindu lore (some of which are taught by Yogis today quite frequently) but the author was *probably* William Atkinson, a New Thought author and publisher thought to be the hand behind works listed under the auspices of a "Yogi Ramacharaka"- indeed the introduction deconstructs the concept of a Yogi and excuses the use of the term by those not entirely encompassed by Hinduism at large.

It's well made; the exercises are fairly simple and mostly used to increase health and physical vigor, although it also mentions the mental and psychic.

This book is a compilation of multiple sub-subjects ranging from the psychic arts to ethics, to the afterlife. It is a strictly theosophical introductory guide with a fairly long bibliographic inclusion and a half dozen entries regarding major figures of theosophy at that time.

The mystic lore itself is mostly beginner material but it would be hard to find a work better suited to those interested in, but not yet part of, theosophical lore.
