This short work by Annie Besant is a compressed basic overview of the then-present state ofthe Theosophical Society, some of its spiritual premises, and a few predictions of note from the contemporary period. It is notable in having been fundamentally correct about mankind undergoing drastic civilizational change in the imminent sense (the work does not far predate the roaring twenties after all) while positing a few reasons for this which very much fell out of favor- such as attempting to communicate with the spirits of the dead. It is one of a few true new age works from the time period.

This intermediate-length work is actually the third of three works written by Farnsworth over the course of a decade, containing various new age material from a surprisingly large number of sub-topics within the spiritual. It touches on Swedenborg, Blavatsky, levitation, the categorization of spirits and creatures, and many other tidbits. It should be noted that the author was certainly not inclined to editing as a trade since I had to redact dozens of errors in the work, and this was a laymans' sort of guide comprised more of short, discrete sections than one overarching, flowing work.

Some of the content is secondary and comes from Theosophical figures, not just Blavatsky but other "masters" also.

This intermediate-length work is the product of Alice A. Bailey, one of the more well known Theosophists of her era. Over her career she penned many works described as "received" (via channeling) but this very early work is of her own admitted manufacture.

Some of the content is quite as pseudoscientific now as it was before (man as a central radiation source comes to mind) but other material is accepted to some degree or another. The idea of spooky action at a distance aside, Baileys' work basically adopts the modern concept of the atom four years before it pretty much replaced the prior. For those interested in Theosophy it is an invaluable work.

The Kybalion: Now Available!

This fine work is quite well known and is a book I'd planned to edit for a couple of years, having heard of its existence but never actually read it. Well written if a bit dense, and quite enigmatic, the Kybalion purports to have been created by three initiates into the Hermetic secret, and contains multiple sections ruminating on the nature of existence, vibration of matter, the nature of thought, creation, and so forth. It's a philosophical work and claims itself to be merely the introductory text of this mystery tradition, passed orally from master to student since antiquity.

The author or authors of the work remain unknown and I am unsure any comprehensive study has attempted to compare its linguistic style to other contemporary individuals. Altogether, the work is quite good, and an interesting read- although its habitual use of upper case letters can be a bit jarring. I decided to leave that intact for authenticity.

This is an excellent work delivered in the form of multiple lectures rather than as a single stand-alone book. It is at once an early example of pro-spiritualist literature and a brutal attack on then-mainstream religious sentiment regarding seances, ghosts, and other similar topics. Refuting the concept of Heaven and Hell in favor of spiritualist explanations, this book is one of a number of texts from the era which would lay the groundwork for the 1910s and 1920s explosion of occult societies that would recede only to give birth to the new age in the hippie era of flower children and apocalyptic atomic paranoia. Highly recommended for both practitioners and history buffs.

The end of 2015 is swiftly approaching and now it's time to announce the final title for the year: "The Principles of Sonic Occultism: Sound as Magic". I'm glad to have finally completed this work, which I first announced back in spring and had already completed by early Autumn, shelving the final proofreading as I worked at editing a pair of works that couldn't wait.

Most occult works which are written in modernity focus either just on history and a secular treatment of magick, or they delve into do it yourself content and have an uncertain view to actual recorded history. With this work, as with its larger cousin "Fruits of Eden" I seek to solve this discrepancy in the occult literary realm. From the Muses of Greece to modern pop music, where is the genuine occult symbolism? How do we categorize the use of occult imagery and sound in mainstream culture? What are these based on? How are they used? How does this relate to society and politics? In this work I've explored all of these concepts and more, putting it all together in a manner which I hope is both user friendly and informative.
